Kid Friendly, Snack, Dessert,

And what can be better than a nice chocolate chip cookie!? This recipe is a hybrid mix of other recipes found online.

1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter
1/2 cup + 2 tbsps molasses sugar (or brown sugar)
1/4 cup granulated sugar (I prefer evaporated cane juice over processed white table sugar)
1 egg
2 teaspoons alcohol-free vanilla flavor
1 & 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350F (or 170C).
2. Cut butter into squares.
3. Add sugars to butter and mix.
4. Add egg and vanilla to mixture and mix.
5. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt.  Then add to butter/sugar mix.
7. Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips and distribute evenly throughout mix.
8. Take 1/8 cup of cookie dough and roll into a ball.
9. Place on baking pan about 2 inches apart.
10. Cook on lowest rack for 10 minutes or until top is light brown.
11. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before moving to a wire rack.
