Chunky Brownies

Description:
The simple art of brownie-making to me lies in the balance of half-brownie, half-batter in each individual brownie. With the mix of melted chocolate and chips thrown in this recipe, it certainly accomplishes that balance!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 and 1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup melted baked chocolate
2 eggs
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup refrigerated (cold) milk chocolate chips
1 cupĀ  refrigerated (cold) baking chocolate chunks

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Melt baking chocolate. make sure to stir frequently otherwise it'll stick.
3. Beat together the butter, sugar, and vanilla in a stand mixer bowl.
4. Add in melted chocolate.
5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well between each addition.
6. Stir together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture.
7. Chop up baking chocolate into small chunks.
8. Fold in in the chocolate chips and chunks with a wooden spoon or spatula. (I prefer using refrigerated (cold) chips because they don't melt as quickly in the oven; it helps keep the "chunk" in)
9. Once batter is well mixed, spread evenly into a baking pan.
10. Bake for 20 minutes or until your see the edges hardening and pulling away from the side but the middle is still moist. You can check by sticking a fork in.
