Patty Melt Sandwich

Serves: 4

American, Main Dish, Ground Beef, Beef, Dinner, Lunch,

Grilled butter and bread, enclosing a cheese, onions and beef patty. Anyone for seconds?!

1 stick butter
1 sliced onion
1 and 1/2 lbs ground beef
8 slices swiss (or) cheedar cheese
8 slices rye (or regular) bread
salt And pepper, to taste

1. In a medium skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat.
2. Add onions and cook until the onions are golden brown and soft.
3. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, salt & pepper
4. Form meat into 4 patties.
5. Heat up another skillet on medium-heat. Cook the patties on both sides until brown and done in the middle.
6. Put together patties in this order: slice of bread, slice of cheese, hamburger patty, 1/4 of the cooked onions, another slice of cheese, and another slice of bread.
7. In another pan, melt 2 tablespoons butter and grill the sandwiches over medium heat until golden brown.
8. Remove the sandwiches and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet.
9. Flip sandwiches to the other side. Cook until golden brown and crisp, and until cheese is melted.
