It's been years since I have used a boxed meal. After seeing it at a store with the list of discouraging ingredients (MSG, artificial colors and soybean!), I set out to make a homemade version! This recipe was adapted from the "Mix It Up Cookbook" Blogspot, minus a few ingredients I felt it didn't need (or I didn't have ;)) After creating this, my husband actually enjoyed this meal - even though he never would eat the original.

1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup tomato paste
3 cups water
2 heaping cups of bowtie noodles (that's the ones I found that looked closest to the mini lasagna noodles)
1 tablespoon corn starch
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder

1. Brown beef in a large saucepan
2. Mix water, tomato paste, and spices in a bowl
3. Add water, paste, corn starch and spices mix to meat; turn on high heat
4. Once bubbling, lower the heat to medium and add noodles
5. Stir occasionally and cook until noodles are cooked
6. Turn off heat and it sit for a few minutes for sauce to thicken
7. Serve hot and enjoy!
